Product details

Product Overview

The Paxton proximity credential is already encoded. You do not need to encode or programme the proximity chip yourself before using the card with Net2.

Each card does, however, need to be enrolled and assigned to a user in the Net2 software.

Important: The Paxton proximity credential comes pre-encoded, but this should not be confused with the magnetic stripe. If you intend to use the magnetic stripe for another application, the requirements for that system should be checked separately.

FAQ

How many Paxton 692-448 cards are supplied?
Each pack contains 10 cards.

Do Paxton 692-448 cards come pre-encoded?
Yes. The Paxton proximity credential uses proprietary Paxton encoding and does not need to be encoded by the customer. The card must still be enrolled and assigned to a user in the Net2 software before it can be used for access.

What frequency does the Paxton 692-448 use?
The card operates at a 125 kHz carrier frequency.

Does the 692-448 have a magnetic stripe?
Yes. The 692-448 includes a magnetic stripe. If you need the Net2 proximity ISO card without a magnetic stripe, consider the Paxton 692-500 instead.

Is the magnetic stripe already encoded?
The card’s Paxton proximity credential is supplied with Paxton’s proprietary encoding. Do not assume that the magnetic stripe is programmed for your intended application; magnetic stripe requirements depend on the system in which you intend to use it.

Can I print employee details onto these cards?
Yes. Paxton states that the cards can be printed using a universal card printer. This allows photographs, names, company branding and other visual identification information to be added.

Do I need an RFID encoder in my card printer?
Not for the Paxton Net2 proximity credential. The proximity element is already encoded by Paxton. A standard compatible card printer can therefore be used for visual personalisation.

Will these work with any 125 kHz access control system?
No. Frequency alone does not determine compatibility. The 692-448 uses Hitag2 technology with proprietary Paxton encoding and is designed for the Paxton Net2 system.
