Product details
Evolis Zenius 2 Plastic Card Printer
The Evolis Zenius 2 Classic ID Card Printer is a compact, single-sided desktop printer for organisations that need to produce staff ID cards, visitor badges and membership cards in-house.
Designed for individual card printing and small to medium batches, the Zenius 2 Classic delivers full-colour printing at speeds of up to 180 cards per hour, with 300 dpi standard resolution and enhanced printing modes for detailed card designs.
Its USB connectivity, automatic and manual card feeding, and included ID-ALL Starter card design software make it suitable for everyday workplace identification.
Key Benefits
Fast, Full-Colour ID Card Printing
The Zenius 2 Classic uses direct-to-card dye-sublimation and resin thermal transfer technology to produce single-sided plastic ID cards.
It supports printing at:
Up to 180 full-colour cards per hour (YMCKO)
Up to 700 monochrome cards per hour
Its resolution options include:
300 × 300 dpi standard colour and monochrome printing
300 × 600 dpi enhanced colour and monochrome printing
Up to 300 × 1200 dpi enhanced monochrome printing
These settings allow organisations to produce cards containing employee photographs, logos, text and other identification details.
Actual printing speeds depend on the ribbon, card design and operating conditions.
Compact Design for Office Use
The Evolis Zenius 2 Classic is designed for desktop installation, making it suitable for offices, reception areas and dedicated card printing workstations.
Its compact footprint allows organisations to position the printer near the computer used to create and manage ID card designs.
This is useful for facilities teams that need to issue cards without relying on an external printing supplier for every new employee or replacement badge.
Automatic and Manual Card Feeding
The Zenius 2 Classic supports both automatic and manual card feeding.
Its standard card handling capacities are:
50-card input feeder
25-card front output hopper
50-card rear output hopper
These capacities are based on standard 0.76 mm cards.
Automatic feeding is useful when preparing batches of ID cards, while manual feeding allows users to produce individual cards when required.
USB Connectivity
The Zenius 2 Classic connects to a computer using USB 2.0.
The printer is supplied with a USB cable and can be used with compatible card design and printing software.
The Classic version does not provide Ethernet connectivity. Organisations requiring a network connection should consider the Zenius 2 Expert.
